Youth Hero Contest

Starting this fall, UR Community Cares is partnering with High Schools across the state to highlight the community service students are performing. We want students to feel valued and give them a platform to show how they are connected in their town and neighborhoods.
Deadline: May 28, 2023

Note : This contest is open to all Connecticut high school students.

How To Apply

• Video should include: Who you are, where are you from, which high school you attend, why you are unique or what makes you special. Lastly, show us how you are inspiring others to serve the community.
• Videos should be recorded horizontally, not vertically, of 3 minutes or less. Submit that video to following email:
Maximum of one video entered per student.
• Student videos will be shared on our social media (with parental consent), and will be automatically entered to win a prize for 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place winners.

Aryan Kalia is a South Windsor, CT high school student who founded as a result of COVID-19. He explains the importance of virtual community services and the importance of giving back.

Jack is a Manchester, CT high school student who is a Boy Scout that created an outdoor classroom as a result of COVID-19. He performs community service by helping with new ropes course and in many other ways.
