Liz's Chat with Patricia
Patricia C. of Clinton is a member of UR Community Cares. She was signed up by her healthcare advocate, as she needed help with light chores and had trouble doing simple tasks around the house. "I called her on September 12, 2022, to check in on how she was doing. The testimony I received was absolutely wonderful. Patricia was very grateful for the UR Community Cares organization and the service received.
She stated how absolutely wonderful the volunteers are, and how they've been dedicated and attentive to her specific needs, as she is recovering at home from hip surgery. The people are unbelievable, I have helped with multiple tasks around the house, transportation to her doctor, and store as needed.

Our conversation went on and I asked an important question:
Where can a person turn when they are in need of support, and who can't afford additional care at home?
Before "I was introduced to UR Community Cares, by my healthcare team, I didn't know about it. The team of volunteers in Clinton is so important (should be in every town) because, before this organization, services like this one did not exist. More people today are in need of assistance, and a program of this caliber is in great demand."
I asked Ms. Patricia if would she recommend UR Community Cares to family and friends and she replied, "Absolutely 100 percent!" Her exact words." I can't say enough about the care and attention I received from my Care Manager, and how it has helped make my healing process a lot easier,” She asked me what other services UR Community Cares provide, and I directed her to look at everything UR Community Cares website has to offer.
Free volunteer support for Clinton residents due to funding from the Clinton Community Assistance Team. Now that’s priceless.
VOLUNTEER TESTIMONYBarbara is a valued Volunteer for UR Community Cares, giving her time to assist Members like Patricia with transportation and light household duties. She says "There is a GREAT need for more volunteers, and not enough words can describe her experiences being a volunteer for Patricia that's made a huge impact in her life; and she feels that if you can give a little of your time, could be so rewarding to someone's life as well as your own." She continued to say "We are all put in certain situations for a reason and that Patricia makes her a better person, in spite of her condition(s), and need(s) for assistance.” Barbara states how she wishes there were more people volunteering, and outside help for projects such as painting, or installing a ramp. She expresses real concerns for Patricia's safety. She states "I’m very scared for her, because she needs a ramp put in her house for her safety, and it would be so rewarding if we could have contractors that could volunteer a little of their time to make someone's life a little easier, better and safer to live."
